Girls Dance and Mentoring

Service Description

A bespoke project for secondary schools in North and East London. Girls aged 12 - 14 (Years 7 - 9), participate in creative and caring dance and mentoring sessions. The sessions are co-led by an experienced professional teacher-dancer, alongside a small team of 16-21 year olds who are training to be dance teachers and peer mentors. The young participants are encouraged to express themselves and explore their identities under the guidance and nurture of our teaching team, and work towards a performance and awards ceremony. Graduates of this project often go on to participate in our dance leadership programme when they reach Year 10 and above. Come together, dance together, grow together!
