Young Women's Empowerment Project

Service Description

The project with which WeMove all began! Young women aged 16-20 come together with professionals from the fields of dance, education and therapy, in a non-hierarchical space, to dance, talk and plan actions for change in their local community. Previous groups have explored topics such as black women's depiction in the media, the complexities of female friendships, and sexism in STEM subjects in school - but the direction of this project is up to each unique group! The project also includes opportunities to put on an event or a campaign, and to co-lead adapted sessions for younger girls in the community. It also always involves snacks, music and laughter.
